Full of it: Thick brows at Derek Lam, Donna Karan, and Marc Jacobs

Ladies, step away from the tweezers.

It seems that bold eyebrows, as seen on the fall runways, aren't going anywhere just yet. In fact, thick, dark arches made a statement at many a Spring 2012 show.

Derek Lam sent out big brows, almost exaggerated, courtesy of Tom Pecheux. The makeup artist dusted individual hairs with a blend of Estée Lauder’s Cyber Eyes Eyeshadow.

Bold brows at Altuzarra

Over at Altuzarra, Pecheux was at it again, except this time he was channeling the epic arches of Elizabeth Taylor—with a twist.

“It’s Elizabeth Taylor at the gym,” he told FashionEtc. He conjured the look (right) by creating a more “lived-in” brow via eye shadow, not a pencil.

Joseph Altuzarra revealed to New York Magazine that the idea came more as a last-minute fluke: After bleaching one of the model's hair for the show, they slicked on some black mascara at the fitting, just for kicks, and were sold. “It just looked so strong and sharp,” the designer said.

A dark pout complemented the graphic arches at Donna Karan, and at Victoria Beckham, the brows were almost the sole makeup on the face.

Proenza Schouler's barely-there rosy makeup was perfectly set off with precision eyebrows. And at Marc Jacobs, the look was thick and curved.

But brows weren't just a trend in New York. Across the pond, Erdem's arches were unbrushed, creating a thicker, wilder look.

If you haven't already started growing out your brows for fall, what are you waiting for? Spring is just around the corner.
