Looks from the Fall 2012 Calvin Klein Collection
SHOW: Calvin Klein (See the full collection.)
ACCESSORIES: Minimal, as expected.
OVERALL TAKEAWAY: An army of Rooney Maras
If Downton Abbey was a big theme today, then you knew The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo would also come into play. More specifically, the lead character. For Calvin Klein Collection's Fall 2012 show, an army of models looking strikingly like Rooney Mara walked out. Incidentally, Mara was front row at the show.
This was an austere collection—no surprise for Francisco Costa. But it was stunning. Black on black on black, with bare (ish) faces and ponytails. Leather was a huge part of the collection—such a big trend for Fall. Embellishments were few—as is the norm for Calvin Klein. Minimalists will no doubt rejoice.
Volume came into play in the coats, skirts, and jackets. Standouts included a black dress with a full skirt and sheer neckline (gorgeous), a black leather dress, and a skirt set covered in paillettes. Sensing a theme here?
Though there were pops of color, we won't lie when we say we love the mostly black color palette. A good ending to Fashion Week, wouldn't you say.
