Three looks from Prabal Gurung's collection for J.Crew.
It might be a good idea to start lining up now: Prabal Gurung’s very limited-edition collection for J.Crew has been revealed—and will hit stores next week.
The collaboration is part of Gurung’s prize for being named a 2010 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund runner-up; winner Billy Reid’s collection for the store launched in April, while fellow runner-up Eddie Borgo’s will hit sales floors later in the summer.
“I didn’t know how it was going to turn out, but when I saw the J.Crew well-oiled machine, I was pretty relieved,” Gurung told FashionEtc. “It turned out amazingly well.”
The six-piece limited-edition collection (only 50 pieces were created of some of the styles) ranges from a pair of ankle-tie tuxedo pants for $195 (above right, and worn by J.Crew’s head of womenswear, Marissa Webb, at a recent party in honor of the winners) to a detailed “rampant rose” top for $450.
“Everything is under $500—and there’s nothing under $500 in my [main] collection!” added Gurung. “I’m excited that I can buy it for my cousins!”
The Prabal Gurung at J.Crew pieces are available for pre-order at jcrew.com now, and will hit select J.Crew stores starting next week.
In the meantime, check out J.Crew's Fall 2011 offerings.
