Alexander Wang Fall 2011 Ad Campaign to Be Projected in New York City
Some fashion brands produce short films, some shoot print campaigns, some take over billboards—but leave it to Alexander Wang to make the Big Apple the backdrop for his new ad campaign.
Fabien Baron snapped a Karl Templer-styled Raquel Zimmerman in a shredded skirt and sweater from Wang’s Fall collection for the Fall 2011 campaign, which is set in an abandoned Brooklyn factory.
But instead of taking the aforementioned routes of displaying the images, the designer and co. have arranged to have Zimmerman projected around downtown Manhattan.
July 13 around 9 p.m., Houston and MacDougal, 14th Street and University, and 14th Street and 8th Avenue will be lit up with projections of the ads. The guerrilla marketing tactic will continue in those locations and more for the next three days.
Alexander Wang (or Zimmerman!) devotees who aren’t in Manhattan won’t miss out on the fun, though: a video will hit alexanderwang.com the morning of July 14.
