Marios Schwab Out at Halston; House to Shutter?

Following the high profile departures of president and chief creative officer Sarah Jessica Parker and partial owner Harvey Weinstein, comes news that creative director Marios Schwab is out at Halston as well.

According to Women’s Wear Daily, the creative director’s contract expired and was not renewed. (Schwab currently designs an eponymous line as well, which shows in London.)

While Parker was said to have creative direction over the lower-priced Halston Heritage line, Schwab’s responsibility was the brand’s main line, which looks to be shuttering.

Halston will reportedly not produce a collection for Spring 2012, and the Fall 2011 collection (which earned lukewarm reviews) might not make it to retail.

The brand has struggled to find its footing from its relaunch, when designer Marco Zanini was let go after a single season.

While there’s still been no official statement from the fashion house, it’s expected that Halston Heritage will remain and Halston will close.

In the meantime, check out the Marios Schwab-designed Halston Fall 2011 collection.
