Send me an angel: Adriana Lima and Miranda Kerr strike a pose on their respective Elle October covers.
After Elle U.K. showed some model appreciation with its Agyness Deyn cover, Elle is upping the ante with four October covers devoted to Victoria’s Secret Angels Miranda Kerr, Chanel Iman, Adriana Lima, and Doutzen Kroes.
Inspired by the excess of the ‘80s, creative director Joe Zee styled Kerr in a nautical Yves Saint Laurent blazer-and-skirt combo paired with a bandeau bikini top from (where else?) Victoria’s Secret and layers upon layers of chunky chain belts, bracelets, and necklaces.

Beach babes: Doutzen Kroes and Chanel Iman crank up the heat in ‘80s-inspired outfits.
Another beachside shoot with lensman Alexei Hay sees the new mama (we know) channeling a new wave bombshell in a neon VS bikini, fluoro orange Givenchy visor, and scuba-fabric cutout Jimmy Choo boots. That’s it ... who’s got some coconut oil we can borrow?
Speaking of ridiculously toned new mothers, Phyllon’s mama Kroes turns up the heat in her own cover shoot, rocking beachy waves and a zebra-print retro two-piece with matching lime cashmere sweater—very Scuba-chic—from Michael Kors.
Inside, the budding actress flashes flat abs in a pink striped Oscar de la Renta crop top and hot pants worn with a blue tweed jacket from Marc Jacobs and vintage statement jewelry.
Lima, meanwhile, unleashes her inner siren in a belted black swimsuit and white terry cloth jacket from Chanel, with damp slicked-back locks and smokey eyes providing extra edge. She also makes a splash (literally) by posing in the ocean in a sequin-and-lace bodysuit from Dolce & Gabbana.
As sexy as that is, the bondage-esque cutout Hervé Léger by Max Azria one-piece worn by Iman for her cover is arguably the most provocative outfit of the bunch, though a chunky Lanvin necklace and Gucci's lemongrass-hued parka and gold python miniskirt do add a modicum of coverage.
“Any woman who has a positive attitude about herself and carries herself with class but doesn’t try too hard and say, ya know, ‘Hey, look at me, I’m a bombshell,’ is basically a bombshell,” says Iman, who is also seen cavorting in the sand in a black VS one-piece with exposed sides. “It’s just a woman with a positive, strong attitude who knows she has it going on.”
So, um ... guess we’ll be skipping the candy raids this Halloween?
