Tom Ford ‘Visionaries’ Documentary to Air on OWN
It’s hard not to be intrigued by Tom Ford: He’s handsome and charismatic and cuts one heck of a dress—he’s also a filmmaker, a tastemaker, and apparently, a man who takes more than three baths a day.
Obsessed yet? We thought you might be. And, apparently, so is the the Oprah Winfrey Network, which will air a documentary about the designer on October 23. (Set those DVRs!)
“Tom Ford embodies the idea of what a creative visionary is,” Michael Bonfiglio, the director of Tom Ford: Visionaries, told Marie Claire.
“His taste and his creations, from his clothing to his filmmaking, is so specific and beautiful. He knows precisely what he wants, and when you see something he has created, it's unmistakably his.”
The documentary includes Ford’s famously secret debut womenswear collection, which was presented on the likes of Beyoncé and Lauren Hutton in New York City back in September 2010, as well as his Los Angeles store opening—and, reportedly, the film got Ford’s stylish stamp of approval.
“When it was over, he had a big smile on his face, told me he loved it, and essentially had no notes — aesthetic or otherwise,” Bonfiglio said of the designer’s personal screening.
“I hope the documentary will appeal to the fashion-loving audience, but I also think that Tom is such a fascinating and complex individual that it speaks to people on a very human level,” he said.
