FGI Rising Star Awards 2012 Nominees Include Wes Gordon, NAHM, and More

Want a sneak peek at the designers who'll be making waves in 2012? The Fashion Group International already has its eye on a few talented young favorites.
The organization has announced the finalists for its annual Rising Star Awards, which will be held in New York on January 26, Women’s Wear Daily reports.
Wes Gordon, Nary Manivong and Ally Hilfiger of NAHM, Elene Cassis, Joel Diaz and Christina LaPens of Jolibe, Norman Ambrose, Nara Paz of Nara Paz Design Internationale, Misha Nonoo of Nonoo, Stacy Lomman of Stacy Lomman: New York, and Steven McDermott of Stevie Mac New York are all up for the women’s ready-to-wear honor being presented by Ralph Rucci.
In the menswear category, Simon Spurr, Rob Magness of Grown & Sewn, Ian Velardi, and Luis M. Fernandez of Number: Lab are nominated, while Thom Browne will bestow the
Project Runway alum Rami Kashou will present the accessories award to one of the following nominees: Deborah Sawath of Thale Blanc, Ron Donovan, Katherine Kim of Roman & Sunstone, Michelle Vale, Blythe Harris of Stella & Dot, Serra Turker of Misela Inc., Adriana Castro, and Michelle Watson of Mimi & Lu.
Fine jewelry finalists are Jessica Kagan Cushman of Jessica Kagan Cushman Studio, Wendy Brandes, and Yolanda Torrubia and Amaia Torrubia of Torrubia & Torrubia.
The awards ceremony will also honor the FGI’s Rising Star picks in retail, fragrance—corporate, fragrance—entrepreneur, and home/interior design.
