Saskia de Brauw and Joan Smalls horse around for Chanel's Spring 2012 campaign.
Athletics are a constant source of inspiration for designers—whether surfing or motocross—and Karl Lagerfeld has just revealed his sport of choice.
Saskia de Brauw and Joan Smalls play gymnasts for Chanel’s Spring 2012 ad campaign—gymnasts who take on the rings, the parallel bars, and the pommel horse in Chanel dresses, no less.

No Smalls feat: The model raises the bar on high fashion.
The models wear everything from cocktail frocks complete with puffly sleeves and ruffled hems to maxi skirts paired with high sandals (we’d hate to see that dismount!) and black socks to tweed suits—not our average gym fare, but then, we’d wear anything for the Kaiser too.
Lagerfeld himself shot the images at the Hôtel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, France, with Carine Roitfeld on styling duty.
