Andrea Linett Joins Michael Kors
Michael Kors has a new right-hand woman!
Andrea Linett, who co-founded Lucky magazine as creative director in 2000, joins the fashion house as vice president and global creative director. January 17 is her first day with the company.
After leaving Lucky in 2010, Linett joined eBay Fashion as creative director, and also launched a blog, I Want to be Her (the blog’s title is also the title of her forthcoming memoir).
At Michael Kors, Linett will report to the namesake designer directly as well as Jill Fishman, the company’s senior vice president of licensing, e-commerce, and direct marketing; her experience in the online arena is something she’s expected to bring to Michael Kors.
“We are excited to have someone with Andrea’s creative experience and business acumen join our team,” said John Idol, the company’s CEO, in a statement. “
As we continue to develop our ecommerce division, we are confident that Andrea will facilitate the expansion of our online success through her firm understanding of the aesthetic and vision of the Michael Kors brand.”
“I have always admired Michael,” Linett said. “He has created a world-class luxury lifestyle brand and I am excited to help expand the brand experience across the globe.”
You can say that again. A recent Michael Kors IPO valued the company at $3.6 billion.
