Kate Winslet Fronts Glamour's 50 Most Glam Issue
Oscar-winning Kate Winslet sizzles on the April cover of Glamour, thanks to a form-fitting black Hervé Léger dress with studded details, rose gold Van Cleef & Arpels earrings, and a saucy come-hither stare.
The British beauty has cause to celebrate. She’s just topped the magazine’s 50 Most Glam List for the third year in a row.
And to prove to readers that the award was no fluke, Winslet vamps it up in a black Victoria Beckham sheath and a strapless blue Sophie Theallet dress for the New York City shoot, photographed by Matthias Vriens-McGrath.
The mother of two, who will next be seen in HBO’s Mildred Pierce, opens up to writer Skip Hollandsworth on body image, parenthood, and her acting ambitions.
Of plastic surgery, Winslet says, “No, I have never tried any of that stuff ... I don’t have parts of my body that I hate or would like to trade for somebody else’s or wish I could surgically adjust into some fantasy version of what they are.”
However, she has experienced criticism over her weight in the past.
“I will tell you that when I was heavy,” she says, “people would say to me — and it was such a backhanded compliment — they would say, ‘You’ve got such a beautiful face,’ in the way of, like, ‘Oh, isn’t it a shame that from the neck down you’re questionable.’”

She's come undone: Winslet works serious bedhead for Glamour.
And while the svelte star is in touch with her glam side, she doesn’t mind getting down and dirty for the right role.
“It’s my chance to challenge myself to the fullest, which is one of the great joys about this job,” says Winslet.
“I love it when a character requires me to look less than my red-carpet best. It’s more fun playing a character that requires you to look like dog s-—t.”
