Always on the cutting edge of polish partnerships, OPI's latest nail collab is one for the athletes.

Following a OO7 James Bond set and Mariah Carey line, the polish giant is moving from the entertainment industry to the sports arena, targeting the A-list athletes from the 2012 Summer Olympics.

From the pool to the tennis courts, Olympic ladies showed off their patriotic pointers with an overwhelming display of nail art at the 2012 London Games, and now OPI is taking the trend to the next level.

OPI's soon-to-be-released GelColor ads highlight Olympic power houses, gymnast Gabrielle Douglas, race car driver Danica Patrick, tennis ace Serena Williams and volleyball player Misty May-Treanor.

The images showcase the strength of GelColor manicures and pedicures (available in 50 shades and priced from $28 to $45). Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI’s executive vice president and artistic director, said, “I didn’t want them to be in a glam shot in a studio. I really wanted to show my audience what these athletes endure.”

Lensed by Miranda Penn Turin, the ads will be featured in the December issues of Bon Appétit, Essence, Health, Lucky, O the Oprah Magazine and Real Simple, according to Women's Wear Daily.
