Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Michelle Williams Win Big at Elle Style Awards
It's official: Jonathan Saunders is most definitely going to need to a bigger trophy case.
The Scottish designer added to his recent accolades (Scottish Fashion Awards Designer of the Year, BFC/Vogue Designer Fashion Fund winner) with a win for Designer of the Year at the 2012 Elle Style Awards on February 13. Not too shabby!
Hosted by Alexa Chung in a boyish Stella McCartney suit, the London-based ceremony toasted the likes of Nicholas Kirkwood (Accessories Designer of the Year), Jordan Askill (Jewelry Designer of the Year), and ACNE (Contemporary Brand of the Year) for their respective contributions to fashion.
Naomi Campbell was on hand to present Alexander McQueen's Sarah Burton with the award for Best International Designer, while Topshop collaborator Mary Katrantzou picked up a trophy for Next Young Designer of the Year.
It was a good day for Victoria's Secret Angels. Roland Mouret presented Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, looking ravishing per usual in an Antonio Berardi number, with the Style Icon of the Year Award, while Model of the Year went to Isabeli Fontana.
The Hollywood crowd also racked up some love, with My Week with Marilyn stars Michelle Williams (who accepted her prize via a pre-recorded message that showed her wearing her H&M BAFTAs gown) and Eddie Redmayne (clad in Burberry, natch) winning Best Actress and Best Actor, respectively.
Jessica Chastain wore Alexander McQueen Spring 2012 to receive her award for Next Future Icon, and Best TV Star Christina Hendricks opted for a purple floral-print Carolina Herrera dress she scored on eBay. (Stars—they're just like us!)
Downton Abbey was named Best TV Show, while Florence and the Machine took home Best Music Act.
Almost makes the Oscars seem like an after-thought, huh?
