Keira Knightley Covers British GQ, Talks Racy Scenes and Crying Over Criticism
Keira Knightley's never needed much help getting attention from the boys (Exhibit A: Her Chanel Coco Mademoiselle commercial), but her steamy new cover shoot for the March issue of British GQ should do the trick all the same.
Now starring as Carl Jung's lover in A Dangerous Method, the British beauty provocatively poses in nothing but a gray off-the-shoulder sweater and nude peep-toe platform heels from Giuseppe Zanotti. Wonder what the good doctor would make of that?
Indeed, Knightley is pretty much pants-less—save for some black bloomers paired with strappy Gucci heels—for the entire Norman Jean Roy-lensed fashion spread.
Sporting a sexy tousled bob and dramatic lipstick, the actress also dons a black fringed leather jacket and a pale blue Diane von Furstenberg sweater, which is precariously draped over her chest.
Director David Cronenberg might be the one to thank for this racy new Ms. Knightley, as the star credits him for helping her accept the X-rated content of her latest film.
"I said, I love you, I love the script," she recalls. "But I don’t think it’s something I can do, so I might have to turn it down.
"Once he said he didn’t want it to be sexy or voyeuristic, and as soon as I got my head around the S&M mentality, I said, 'Okay, let’s do it.'"
Atta girl. Knightley also comes cleans about dealing with criticism, but says she's more or less in a happy place right now.
"Sometimes it’s like water off a duck’s back, and sometimes it really hurts," she says of negative feedback. "And then you go away and cry for an hour or so, and then pick yourself up again ... "
"[But] I’m actually loving this bit right now—doing the work I’m doing, having the life I can have around it. Right now, it’s really good."
With those killer pins? Of course it is.
